I am still in Atlanta awaiting test results from my
doctor.  In the past week it has snowed
twice covering the ground like a white blanket.
That it only lasted one day before melting it was still awesome to
see.  It has been very long since I have
seen snow here in Atlanta and it is awesome.
I have been reading and reflecting the past week and I look forward to
the day I return to Peru.

I also have been reading about Jesus and his interaction
with children.  The disciples have been
arguing about who would be the greatest among them.  Jesus tells them that no one can enter the
kingdom unless they become like little children.  Children are completely dependent upon their
parent not only for physical needs but for teaching and maturing.  When a child asks for something from their
parent they wait, knowing their need will be met.  Being like a child requires that we trust
when we can’t see or we don’t know what is happening.  We do not always need to know the details or
know the why’s but God asks that we trust (Proverbs 3:5-6).  Trusting is something we must do daily
because as I am learning this journey is a process, it is not a matter of
getting to one place or the next as if that is the goal.  I often think that life is about reaching
certain milestones and I can get so wrapped up in reaching that milestone or
goal that I forget this is a journey; I am not going to be complete once I
obtain some goal.  When I began thinking
about the future or allowing worries or anxieties to fill my mind I allow the
enemy to speak words that seem to be true but aren’t.  I will not become perfect or reach my
maturity by getting to one place; it is a continual process, a continual
struggle to believe that God is a loving God.

  1. Your words are so wise and true. Many folks don’t come to this realization as early in life as you have. Our Heavenly Father cares for us so much and will be with us on our lifelong journey. He will not take us anywhere that He is not. Trusting Him daily is a key to us defeating Satan and his lies.
Proverbs 3:5,6 is one of my life verses. As we claim this promise and many others, we will victory. Praying God’s will for you and your time to return to Peru.

  2. Trusting God is so hard, I am constantly learning to trust God. I hope that you are able to go back to Peru soon.

  3. Great stuff Jason and it is so true. I am learning that myself right now and realizing that following Christ and all the struggles that come with that is a choice. Dont let Satan win on this one because God has so much more for you…it is just in His timing! Hang in there!
