This has been a great week in Chincha.  My brain often gets tired from speaking Spanish but I am slowly learning the language.  Nick and I have been teaching Helda, the Pastors wife, some english words and she has been helping us with Spanish.  On Sunday we were able to see several people baptized at the church.  After one of the baptisms we looked up at the sky and there was a huge circle around the sun…similar to the circle of light that goes around the moon sometimes.

I had never seen that before during the day.  We also witnessed a wedding at the church the same day and it was a good time.  Pastor Dessy has talked with us about how we can minister while we are here in Chincha.  As I was talking with him I remembered that I had been praying for ways to minister and when Dessy was explaining different ministries to me I realized it was an answer to prayer.  We will be working, alongside a couple of people from the church, with the youth here at the church.  Also, we will be helping start a new cell group in San Ignacio, about 10 minutes away from Iglesia Emanuel, Pastor Dessys church.

I am also hoping to work with Pastor Nestors community and another place in Tambo de Mora.  Today there will be alomst 400 children at the church.  It should be a lot of fun.

From the sound of your email you are EXACTLY where God wants you. You are in “the groove” for God !!! I pray that God blesses you and strengthens your body, mind and spirit to do His will. You are blessing God when you share His love with the people who surround you ! Please keep the updates coming. I forward them to quite a number of people here who are also praying for you !

  3. Good to hear you’re getting plugged into some ministries. Praying that God will use you mightily over the next few months.

  4. Jason, glad to see the blog. Wasn’t sure you’d have your computer with you in Chincha. You sound much better now and I now know how much you love what you are doing and where you are doing it. Keep up God’s work. With you blogging it doesn’t seem like you’re that far away. Oh Yeah, HAPPY BIRTHDAY on MARCH 9. Another birthday i’ll miss having with you. (Getting used to it though.) 🙂
